And off you go

My last post with the Tardis. I'm a little sad that our adventure is ending. We sure had some good times together and I enjoyed the company of my little companion.

I wish I could have taken him a few more places but time ran out. I did get to take him to work with me, to a favorite breakfast spot and another favorite place for lunch, showed him a little history and some pretty towns and of course my own hometown. If the Tardis stayed a little longer he would have gone to the tree lighting on the Common this afternoon.

Before he went off to the FedEx office, I took him to my sister's studio in Woburn, Massachusetts.

I thought he might enjoy visiting with a British telephone booth since he is British and may be homesick.

As he could see, my sister loves her tea and even repurposes tea tins in her studio.

I wanted to show him the cool table my sister bought for the client room of her studio. The décor is industrial chic.

He got to look at my sister's portfolio of live event wedding paintings she has completed over the last five years.

And here's a photo of the painting of Nancy Kerrigan she did years ago. It now hangs in the Stoneham Public Library.

Here's her latest wedding painting. A wedding under the tent at Castle Hill in Newport. This is my favorite painting to date and I am happy Tardis got to see it before it went to the home of the bride and groom.

After this short visit to the studio, we packed him up and sent him off to Ingrid in Canada. He takes with him some warm memories of good times spent in Boston. I hope our paths will cross again.

"I like adventures, and I'm going to find some."- Louisa May Alcott

"I like adventures, and I'm going to find some." Those words from Louisa May Alcott exemplify the journey of the traveling teapot and the Tardis.  It seemed fitting that I should show the Tardis the Orchard House, home of Louisa May Alcott and the setting for the book, "Little Women".

This morning my sister and I took a daytrip to Concord, Massachusetts. The Tardis accompanied us on our latest adventure. Here's the outside of the Orchard House. All dressed up for Fall and looking as homey and cozy as it was in the story of Louisa and her sisters.

And here I am photographing the Tardis. My new riding boots served me well for walking around this beautiful town known for the first battle of the Revolutionary War. Concord also has a rich literary history.

The Alcott's property consists of two buildings, the Main House and the Concord School of Philosophy.

I think if we could have visited in October we would have had full color in this area. Now most trees are barren and the leaves on the ground are brown. I do love the shape of that tree in the foreground.

We were lucky to see some smoke coming from that cool chimney. Louisa May wrote of cozy fires and nights spent with the family gathered around the fireplace.

I really liked the architecture of the Concord School of Philosophy. I took the Tardis for a closer look.

There was a sweet little garden dedicated to "Little Women".

I love old windows, I especially like seeing a lovely lamp illuminated behind a historic window.

We actually got here later in the afternoon just before Orchard House closed so we did not go inside.

So we will back track. Before Orchard House, we went shopping. This chalkboard at Nesting On Main was especially timely as we give thanks at our American Thanksgiving on Thursday. I am grateful for the opportunity to show the Tardis my corner of the world in New England. I am grateful for my sister who is always a willing participant in so many of my adventures. We always have fun together.

Oh, and I am grateful for shops like Nesting on Main in Concord. I am always inspired by the magic of this store.  Nesting is known for their holiday displays and they never disappoint.

Every shelf, every bit of wall space, is carefully planned. The blending of vintage and new is seamless.

As I said I am inspired by their creativity and I often try to replicate their ideas in my own home.

Rustic and bling, it all works beautifully at Nesting.

We took a break from shopping and visited Haute Coffee. My sister opted for the Parisian Hot Chocolate. She is a hot chocolate connoisseur.

And this is Phoebe, she is a sweet fixture in Concord. Today we saw her at Nesting but she actually belongs to the shopkeeper next door to Nesting. Phoebe is quite the wanderer but she can be bribed to behave with cookies.

Tardis really enjoyed his time in Concord and he can put another entry in his passport. Hopefully we can squeeze in one more adventure before he has to leave for his next destination.

The Tardis is a celebrity!

Today was a work day for me so I couldn't go on an all day adventure with the Tardis. I did take him to work with me and we had a lovely lunch break together. We dined al fresco at Zuzu's Café in Wakefield, Massachusetts, just 12.5 miles north of Boston.

It's full on Autumn in New England but the temperature today was more like Summer. We took advantage of the gorgeous sunshine.

My sister joined us at Zuzu's. I opted for the spinach, red pepper and feta quiche with fruit salad and she had a roasted veggie sandwich. We agreed that lunch was delicious.

 

At this point, several people were eyeing the Tardis and one woman asked about it. I told her about the traveling teapot and she asked if she could take a photo. I think the Tardis was flattered but he never says much.



 

My quiche was mile high but still light and fluffy. Yum!

 

 

This is Shady. She is such a good dog. She sat patiently while her owner ordered her food.

 

 

Shady's mom suggested the Tardis should visit the MFA (Museum of Fine Arts) in Boston. That might be a good idea.

 

Wakefield is such a nice little town and never prettier than in the Fall. Just beyond the monument is a beautiful lake. Wish we had time to take a walk around the lake but work beckoned.

A Cross Country Trip- The Tardis Arrives in Boston!

 

The Tardis has landed in Boston! When I arrived home from work today Tardis was patiently waiting for me on my porch. I'm Elaine of Team Darjeeling by the way.

 

Although Tardis didn't complain I am quite sure he is exhausted from his trip from Marilyn's home in Portland, OR. He told me he had such a great visit to the West Coast.

 

In Boston, MA, the wind is howling and it's pouring buckets outside. Inside, it is cozy. Tardis has met the kitties and is relaxing by the fire with a cup of Earl Grey from a local brewer, Jolie Tea of Salem.

 

A good night's rest is in order for we have many adventures ahead of us.

Little Blue has Tea in California

 Little Blue had tea with my cousins and I in Columbia, California

at Columbia Kate's Teahouse.  We sat in the garden, as there were

sixteen of us.

 Mango Black Iced tea was set on the table for all.

The apricot scones were delicious.

 A salad was a delight!

 Cucumber, Egg Salad, and Chicken Salad sandwiches

were sprinkled with roses, yummmm!

 Tiramiso macaron for dessert was perfectly made and so good.

 Little Blue thoroughly enjoyed tea time at Columbia Kate's.

The Darjeeling Team teapot will travel back to Oregon soon.

Team Darjeeling Takes an Adventure

 Little Blue came to me just in time to take an adventure

to the NW Tea Festival.

Greetings from Seattle on a sunny, brisk morning.

This little teapot had a lot of visiting to do.

 First stop was Lorna Reeves, the editor of Tea Time Magazine.

She asked me to send a link to our blog, which I will do when I return home.

Oh the Tea and Savory book is totally wonderful.

She said she was inspired to do the book last year at the NW Tea Festival.

 

Of course Little Blue had to say hello to ATAA members,

Stephanie and Mara.  Mara was happy once again to say hello to this little sweetie.
