Downton Abbey & Sticky Toffee Pudding Sundae

Downton Abbey & Sticky Toffee Pudding Sundae

The Tardis became a big fan of Downton Abbey while staying with Teresa in Ohio.  Teresa  sent along a gift packet of Downton Abbey teas and a service bell to ring for Spratt or Denker.

A tea tray is ready to enjoy while watching the show tonight.  I just picked the pink camellia in my garden.  Isn’t it beautiful?

I’ll be sitting in a Downton Era chair which was a gift to my great-grandfather in the 1920’s and enjoying a pot of Mrs. Patmore’s Pudding Black Tea.  This tea has such a wonderful aroma.

After the show, a Sticky Toffee Sundae with banana ice cream and caramelized banana slices was a perfect ending to a lovely evening of Downton.

Cheers and Happy Sipping!

  1. How I love your tea treats! What an experience to sit in your great grandfather's chair. The camellia is beautiful. The only flowers available in my house this time of year are purchased from the store.

  3. I'm sure the Tardis teapot was pleased to be a part of your elegant Downton Abbey tea tray. How wonderful to have a chair that belonged to your great-grandfather! My blog post about the 'Tea Party in a Box' to welcome the Tardis is up today at http://relevanttealeaf.blogspot.com/

  10. Now this is the perfect way to watch Downton Abbey. Then topping it off with a special tea, sundae, and a beautiful camellia too. Now I want some of the sundae. It looks absolutely delicious. Love the chair you sat in too.

  11. Before I read your blog post, Martha, for teatime we had sea salt caramel-toffee chip ice cream with banana slices and Elyse's Blend tea. It must be the time of year for that kind of treat. I may caramelize some bananas later this week or perhaps Bananas Foster, which the Young Dames of Colonial Dames had in New Orleans this week as part of a four day fun gathering of young NSCDA women from all over the U.S. Their photos put me in the mood and yours pushed the idea right over the edge to "gotta do it."

  13. I bet Mrs. Patmore is impressed with your dessert, I know I am. Wonder if the Tardis can go into the future to tell us who Mary ends up marrying? Outside of the box, I am rooting for Tom.
